Background of the Study
Talent management is a strategic approach to attracting, developing, and retaining skilled employees to meet organizational objectives. In the education sector, where human resources are the key drivers of success, talent management becomes even more critical. Schools and educational institutions need to ensure they are staffed with qualified, motivated, and engaged teachers and administrative staff to foster an environment conducive to learning and academic success (Ajibola & Olayemi, 2024). In Kogi State, educational institutions are increasingly recognizing the need for effective talent management strategies to improve overall performance and academic outcomes.

In the face of challenges such as staff turnover, skill gaps, and increasing competition for qualified educators, Kogi State’s educational institutions have begun adopting talent management practices. These strategies aim to improve staff retention, enhance job satisfaction, and align workforce capabilities with institutional goals (Ogunbiyi & Abiola, 2023). Despite these efforts, there remains limited empirical evidence on how talent management strategies directly impact the success of educational institutions in Kogi State. Therefore, this study seeks to examine the effects of talent management strategies on business success within the educational sector in the state.

Statement of the Problem
Despite the growing recognition of the importance of talent management, many educational institutions in Kogi State still face challenges in implementing effective strategies. Issues such as high turnover rates, inadequate training programs, and insufficient employee engagement hinder the potential benefits of talent management practices.
